Diwali is a good moment to say the quiet part out loud: this year's work came almost entirely from people who referred us without being asked. To the clients who did that — thank you. To everyone closing books this week, may next year be the one where the growth feels less like a scramble. Wishing you and your teams a bright, unhurried Diwali.

The arc these belong in
One caption is not a campaign. This is the shape that works, and it is the same four phases Occasely plans automatically.
- Teaser3 weeks beforeShow the work in progress — boxes being packed, stock arriving, the first batch out of the kitchen.
- Build-up2 weeks beforeName the range and the prices. This is the post people screenshot and send to family.
- Offer1 week beforeThe actual offer with a deadline: free delivery, a bundle price, pre-order cut-off.
- Last day2 days beforeUrgency, plainly stated. What is left, and until when.
Why this occasion is worth posting for
- Customers plan Diwali purchases three to four weeks ahead — a post on the day arrives after the money is spent.
- Gifting is the biggest single category, so a post that names a price and a deadline outperforms a greeting.
- Local intent peaks: people search for shops near them, which is why the Google Business post matters as much as the Instagram one.
Three mistakes worth avoiding
Posting only on the day
By Diwali morning the gifting is bought and the sweets are ordered. The posts that earn money go up three weeks earlier.
A greeting with no business in it
"Happy Diwali from all of us" over a diya stock photo tells a customer nothing they can act on. Say what you have, what it costs, and until when.
The same caption everywhere
A hashtag block that works on Instagram makes a Google Business post look like spam — Google's own guidance is no hashtags there. Write it once, adapt it per platform.
Copying one caption is the easy part
The work is the other eleven posts: written for your business, in your language, dated across three weeks, and actually published while you are serving customers. Describe your shop once and Occasely does that for Diwali and every occasion after it.
Plan Diwali in OccaselyQuestions
- When should I start posting about Diwali?
- About three weeks out. Customers decide on gifts and outfits well before the festival, so a teaser three weeks ahead and an offer one week ahead does more than anything posted on the day.
- How many hashtags should a Diwali post have?
- Eight to fifteen on Instagram, mixing the festival tags with your own locality so people nearby actually find you. None at all on Google Business Profile. One or two on X.
- Can Occasely write these for my shop specifically?
- Yes — that is the difference between this page and the product. Occasely knows your business name, city, what you sell and the language you talk to customers in, and writes the whole three-week arc dated and scheduled rather than one caption you paste in yourself.
