Never leave a comment unanswered again
A comment section is a queue of people talking to you in public, and most businesses leave it to the algorithm. Comment automation reads every comment on your posts and does the right thing with each one: a keyword gets the link in their DMs and, if you like, a public reply under the comment; a genuine question gets an AI answer from your knowledge base, in public, where the next fifty readers see it; a complaint gets you, not a bot; and “🔥🔥🔥” gets left alone.
Instagram Business or Creator account. Official Meta API, no password, free plan with no card.
Coming soon. Instagram automation opens once Meta approves our app for Instagram messaging. It will be part of every plan, not an add-on.
Who it's for
Businesses whose comments are half questions (“price?”, “do you ship to Delhi?”) and half noise.
Owners who want to answer in public, because a good answer under a comment sells to everyone reading.
Anyone who has ever missed a complaint sitting under a post for three days.
How it works
Create the post, publish it, and let the replies, the leads and the clicks follow. Four steps, one afternoon.
- Create01
Set up a keyword automation with a public reply
Start from Send price or Send booking link. Beyond the private reply, fill in the public reply (“Sent you a DM 💌”), so the comment thread confirms it works. Choose whether it runs on all posts or the ones you pick.
- Engage02
Turn on AI comment replies for real questions
With AI comment replies switched on for the account, every comment is classified first: purchase intent, question, positive, neutral, spam, emoji only, tag-a-friend, complaint or irrelevant. The AI answers only questions and buying intent, publicly, from your knowledge base.
- Capture03
Complaints come to you, immediately
A comment classified as a complaint is never answered by the AI. You get a notification, and the comment waits in the inbox for a person. That's the rule that makes automation safe to leave on overnight.
- Convert04
Every reply is logged
Each automation has a timeline: which comment, what was sent, what was skipped and why. Tracked links count the clicks each automation produced. You'll know in a week which caption phrasing gets the comments that convert.
What it looks like
Real templates, with the reply rendered the way the customer sees it. Names and links are examples; yours come from your own setup.
“Price?” → public confirmation + private link
Hey Rohan 👋 Thanks for asking! Here's our pricing: occasely.com/l/q7Kx2m
Plus a public “Sent you a DM 💌” under the comment. Two replies, one comment: the private one converts, the public one recruits the next commenter.
“Do you ship to Kochi?” → a public AI answer
Yes, we ship across Kerala in 3–4 days, free above ₹999. DM us if you'd like the catalog!
Posted under the comment, from your delivery entry. Everyone reading the post now knows you ship to Kerala. If your knowledge base doesn't say, the AI invites them to DM instead of inventing a delivery time.
“My order arrived broken” → no bot, a notification to you
(nothing automated — you're notified and the thread waits for a person)
Classified as a complaint. The AI stays silent, you get an alert, and you answer it yourself, in public or in private, from the inbox.
“🔥🔥🔥” and “@priya look at this” → left alone
(no reply)
Emoji-only and tag-a-friend comments are recognised and skipped, so your account doesn't reply “Thanks for asking!” to a friend tagging a friend.

Questions
Does it reply to every single comment?
No, and it shouldn't. Keyword automations reply to comments containing your keywords. AI comment replies go only to comments classified as a question or buying intent. Emoji, tags, compliments, spam and off-topic comments are recognised and skipped. Complaints are routed to you and never auto-answered.
How does it handle a complaint?
Before any model is asked, a comment or message mentioning refunds, returns, damaged or missing items, or abusive language is sent straight to you. Every other comment is then classified, and anything that reads as a complaint skips the AI too. You get a notification, and the conversation waits in the inbox for a human reply.
Will the public reply say it's automated?
Only if you write it that way. You write the public reply text yourself, with the person's first name available as a variable. Most businesses use something short and honest: “Sent you a DM 💌” or “Check your inbox, Priya!”.
Does it work on comments I leave on other accounts' posts?
No. Comment automation runs on comments left on your own posts, reels and carousels. That's both how Instagram's API works and where your customers are.
What kind of Instagram account do I need, and do you need my password?
An Instagram Business or Creator account; a personal account can be switched in the app's settings for free. You sign in on Instagram's own screen and approve the comments and messaging permissions; Occasely never sees your password and works only through the official Meta API.
Which plan includes this?
Keyword comment automations with public and private replies are on Free (2 live automations, one account, 200 automated messages a month). AI comment replies need Growth at $19/mo, where they share the 500 AI replies a month with AI DM replies; Pro at $39/mo lifts that to 3,000 across three Instagram accounts.
