Instagram leads with a name and a number
A like is not a lead. A follower is not a lead. A lead is a person who told you they want something and gave you a way to reach them. Occasely turns comments and DMs into exactly that: the reply asks a question (“What's the best email to send this to?”), the answer is saved on the person with the post it came from, and your leads list fills up with names, emails, numbers and what each of them asked for. Export it as CSV, filter it by post or status, or follow up from the inbox while the conversation is still open.
Instagram Business or Creator account. Official Meta API, no password, free plan with no card.
Coming soon. Instagram automation opens once Meta approves our app for Instagram messaging. It will be part of every plan, not an add-on.
Who it's for
Coaches, consultants and course sellers who need an email list, not a follower count.
Service businesses that close over a phone call and want WhatsApp-ready numbers from people who asked to be called.
Anyone running a giveaway, waitlist or launch and wanting the entries somewhere better than a screenshot of comments.
How it works
Create the post, publish it, and let the replies, the leads and the clicks follow. Four steps, one afternoon.
- Create01
Choose Capture email or Capture phone number
Both templates listen for a keyword on a comment (yes, me, interested, info by default) and reply with a question. Edit the keywords to match your caption and the question to match your voice.
- Publish02
Make the offer in the caption
“Comment GUIDE and I'll send it to your inbox.” Post it, or schedule it in Occasely and attach the automation to that exact post from the composer.
- Capture03
The DM asks, the answer is saved
The private reply asks for the email. When they answer, the address is saved on the lead, along with the post and automation that captured it. A follow-up question can ask which service they're interested in. If they reply an hour later, it still counts.
- Convert04
Work the list
Filter leads by status, source, automation or the last 7 or 30 days. Export to CSV for your email tool or CRM. Open a lead's conversation in the inbox and follow up while Instagram's 24-hour window is open.
What it looks like
Real templates, with the reply rendered the way the customer sees it. Names and links are examples; yours come from your own setup.
GUIDE → email captured, guide sent
Hey Karan 👋 What's the best email to send the guide to?
They reply with the address; the next message carries the link. One post, one automation, a list that grows while the reel is doing the rounds.
CALL → a phone number and a callback
Hey Meera 👋 What's the best number to reach you on?
Then “Got it — someone from Bloom Studio will call you soon.” The number lands on the lead, ready for WhatsApp or a phone call, with the reel it came from.
DM INFO → email plus what they want
Happy to help Neha! What's your email so we can send everything over?
Followed by “And which service are you interested in?” Two answers saved as two fields, so the list already tells you who wants bridal and who wants a haircut.
DISCOUNT → a code, and everyone who asked marked as a lead
Hey Farah 🎁 Here's your code: FEST15 — use it at checkout.
No question asked, but everyone the automation fires for is flagged as a lead. After a sale week you have the names of everyone who wanted the deal, whether or not they used it.
Part of every plan
Engage isn't an add-on. It comes with the same plan that writes and schedules your posts, in USD everywhere, tax handled at checkout.

Questions
Where do the leads go?
Into the Leads list in Occasely Engage: name and Instagram handle, the email or phone they gave, the post and automation that captured them, when, and a status you set. Every lead links to its conversation, so the context is one click away.
Can I export them?
Yes, as a CSV with the same filters as the list: status, source, automation, last 7 or 30 days, or a search. Drop it into your email tool, your CRM or a spreadsheet.
What if they don't answer the question straight away?
The question waits. If they answer an hour later, or the next morning, the answer is still saved to the right field on the right lead. If they never answer, you still have their handle and the post they came from.
Is asking for an email in a DM allowed?
Yes. The person commented or messaged you, which opens the conversation on Instagram's side, and your reply asks a question inside that conversation. Occasely stores only what the person typed to you, in your workspace, and uses no cookies or pixels to do it.
How many leads can I keep?
Free stores up to 100 leads, marked by hand from the inbox. Marking everyone an automation fires for as a lead, and asking questions in the DM for an email, a phone number, a name or a custom field, are Growth features ($19/mo), with 1,000 leads stored. Pro ($39/mo) stores unlimited leads.
How do I follow up?
From the inbox, while Instagram's 24-hour window after their last message is open. After that, only the person can reopen the DM, which is exactly why capturing an email or number matters: it's the channel you own.
