Occasely vs Metricool
Metricool is an analytics tool that also schedules. Occasely is a campaign planner that also publishes — with delivery reporting only, and no engagement data at all.
The short answer
These two tools answer different questions. Metricool answers "how did that perform" — social, web and ads in one dashboard, competitor benchmarking, report templates you can hand to a client — at a price nothing else in this category matches. Occasely answers "what should I post for Diwali, and when" — name an occasion and it plans the whole arc, teaser through last-day push, writes every post and puts a date on it. The asymmetry is worth stating plainly: Occasely has no engagement analytics. None. Published, queued, failed, per network, with a readable reason when something breaks and an automatic retry — that is the entire report. So if you are picking one tool and measurement is the job, pick Metricool. If the bottleneck is that the occasion arrives and nothing is written, that is the gap we built for, and a fair number of people will end up running both. One more thing to weigh: Metricool is an established product with years of users behind it, especially in Spain and Latin America. Occasely is in private beta.
What Metricool is genuinely good at
Analytics that outrun the price
Social, web and ads in one dashboard, plus competitor benchmarking. When we researched this in July 2026, that sat on a Starter tier running roughly $20-45/mo depending on how many brands you needed. Most of this category charges enterprise money for that view. This is Metricool's real moat and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
A free plan you can actually work in
At the time we researched it, the free tier covered one brand, 20 posts a month, 30 days of analytics history and five competitor profiles. That is more than most free tiers in this category hand over, and it is a large part of why Metricool got its foothold.
Per-brand pricing with unlimited users
You pay for brands, not seats. Adding a teammate, a client contact or a freelancer costs nothing. For an agency with a growing team that structure beats almost everything on the market, including us — we simply do not sell to that shape of team.
Reporting built to hand to a client
Report templates, a Looker Studio connector, roles and approvals on the higher tiers. If your deliverable is a monthly performance deck rather than the posts themselves, that is infrastructure Occasely does not have.
Where Occasely is the better fit
Occasion arcs, not an empty calendar
Name an occasion — Diwali, Black Friday, Eid, Christmas — and Occasely plans the whole sequence: teaser, build-up, offer, last day. Every post written, every post dated. Metricool gives you a calendar and a caption assistant; deciding what the campaign is stays your job. Our occasion calendar is public at /tools/occasion-calendar if you want to see the source data first.
AI that is not rationed by the caption
Metricool's assistant handles captions, hashtags, content ideas and alt text on limited monthly credits, with alt text on the higher tiers. Reviewers have been direct that AI is not where Metricool competes. On Occasely, text generation is unlimited on paid plans. Only AI images are metered by credits, because images cost real money to make.
No surcharge for a network
When we researched Metricool, X was billed as a paid add-on per account on every tier including Free, and LinkedIn required a paid plan. Occasely's nine channels — Instagram, Facebook, Google Business Profile, LinkedIn profiles, Telegram, X, Threads, Bluesky and Discord — all cost the same, which is nothing extra. Your plan caps how many you connect at once, six on Growth and twelve on Pro, but no network carries a surcharge and neither does a person.
One voice, from the post to the review reply
18+ language styles, and the same voice carries into Google Business review replies. Occasely syncs your reviews, drafts a response in your voice, and waits for you to approve it before anything publishes. Metricool's assistant, as our research recorded it, covers captions, hashtags, ideas and alt text — the post, not the reply. What we do not have is a social inbox: Google reviews are the only thing we answer.

When to pick Metricool instead
- Your deliverable is a report. If you send clients monthly performance decks — reach, engagement, competitor benchmarking, a Looker Studio dashboard — Metricool does that job and Occasely does not do it at all. We show delivery: published, queued, failed.
- You publish to TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest or Twitch. Metricool covers those networks. Occasely supports none of them, and we are not going to paper over it with a coming-soon badge.
- You run several brands with several people. Per-brand pricing with unlimited users is simply the better structure once a team is touching multiple accounts, and Occasely has no client roles, approval workflows or white label to offer against it.
If the occasion is the part you keep missing
Describe your business once. Occasely plans the arc for every occasion that matters to it, writes each post for the channel it is going to, and holds the queue until you approve.
Questions
- Is Occasely a replacement for Metricool?
- Not a complete one. If you use Metricool mainly for analytics and client reporting, Occasely replaces none of that — our reporting covers delivery only, with no reach, engagement or follower data. If you use Metricool mainly to schedule posts you already wrote, Occasely replaces that part and adds the planning and the writing. Plenty of people will sensibly run both.
- What does Metricool cost?
- When we researched it in July 2026, Metricool was free for one brand with a 20-post monthly cap; Starter ran roughly $20-45/mo depending on how many brands you needed; and Advanced ran roughly $53-210/mo for 15 to 50 brands, adding teams, roles, approvals, report templates and Looker Studio. X was billed as a per-account add-on on every tier including Free, and LinkedIn required a paid plan. Vendors change prices, so check metricool.com/pricing before you decide.
- Does Occasely have engagement analytics?
- No. Occasely reports delivery only: published, queued or failed, per network, with a human-readable reason when a publish fails and an automatic retry. There is no follower growth, no engagement rate, no reach and no impressions. That is a genuine gap against Metricool, and we would rather you know it before you sign up than after.
- Which channels can Occasely publish to?
- Nine: Instagram, Facebook, Google Business Profile, LinkedIn (personal profiles, not Company Pages), Telegram, X, Threads, Bluesky and Discord. Bluesky connects with an app password you create and Discord with a channel webhook you paste, so neither waits on a platform review; the trade on Discord is that a webhook post comes back without a permalink. Not TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Reddit, Snapchat or WhatsApp. Telegram is a channel Metricool does not publish to, and Discord was not in the platform list our research recorded for it — but TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest and Twitch are Metricool's advantage, not ours. How many you connect at once depends on plan: two on Free, six on Growth, twelve on Pro.
- Which one is cheaper?
- It depends on shape rather than a headline number. Metricool prices per brand with unlimited users, so the cost per brand falls the more brands you run. Occasely is free to start — two channels and 10 AI posts a month, with occasion campaigns beginning on Growth — then $19/mo Growth and $39/mo Pro, no per-seat and no per-channel charges, annual billed at ten months' price. Tax is Dodo Payments' job as merchant of record, not a line you reconcile. Manage twenty brands and Metricool's structure wins on price. Run one business that needs the campaigns actually written, and ours does.
