Occasely vs Zoho Social
Zoho Social schedules the posts you bring it, across more networks than we support. Occasely begins at the occasion itself and hands back the whole run, dated and written.
The short answer
Zoho Social is a mature scheduler attached to a large software suite. It reaches more networks than we do, it is priced per brand rather than per user, and when we researched it its India pricing sat well below its USD list. Its reporting answers questions ours cannot answer at all. Occasely does one thing Zoho Social does not: it starts from the occasion. Name Diwali, Eid, Black Friday or Christmas and it returns a dated multi-post arc — teaser, build-up, offer, last day — every post written, ready to edit and schedule across the nine channels we publish to. Every publish attempt is logged with a readable failure reason and retried. If your problem is "I have the posts, I need them scheduled everywhere, cheaply, next to my CRM," Zoho Social is the better buy and we would rather you bought it. If your problem is "the festival is in nine days and nothing is written," that is the problem we built for. We are pre-launch and in private beta, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
What Zoho Social is genuinely good at
Channel coverage, including WhatsApp
Our research put Zoho Social's network list among the two widest in this category: Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn profiles and company pages, Google Business Profile, YouTube, Pinterest, TikTok, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, plus Telegram and WhatsApp Business on its Premium tier at the time we looked. Six of those are things we cannot match at all: YouTube, Pinterest, TikTok, Mastodon, WhatsApp Business, and LinkedIn Company Pages as distinct from personal profiles.
Priced per brand, not per seat
Zoho Social charges per brand rather than per user, with a free tier that includes real publishing. In India its pricing page localizes, and when we researched it the rupee tiers ran materially below the USD list — our two secondary sources disagreed on the exact figures, so check its own page from an Indian connection. It sets the price floor in this category and we are not trying to undercut it.
It is part of Zoho
Social sits inside the same account as Zoho CRM, Desk, Books and Mail — one vendor, one login, one bill, and in India GST invoicing and an established partner network. It has been shipping for years and carries thousands of public reviews. Occasely integrates with none of that, and trust built over a decade is not something a beta can claim.
Reporting and inbox that we do not have
Zoho Social gives you engagement reporting, with custom reports further up the range, plus an inbox for replies on its higher tiers. Occasely has none of this. Our analytics stop at delivery. On measurement, Zoho Social is straightforwardly the better tool and saying anything else would be dishonest.
Where Occasely is the better fit
The occasion is the input
Type an occasion — Diwali, Eid, Black Friday, Christmas, your own anniversary sale — and Occasely plans the arc around it: teaser, build-up, offer, last day. Every post is written and dated before you approve anything, per channel. Our research found Zia writes a caption when you ask for one; it does no campaign planning. The occasion list is public at /tools/occasion-calendar if you want to see what we track before signing up.
The writing is not rationed
Text generation is unlimited on Occasely's paid plans. The only metered thing is AI image generation, which runs on credits, and we say that on the pricing page rather than burying it. When we researched Zoho Social, its Zia allowance ran from 5 credits a month on the free tier to 80 on Premium, and a recurring complaint in its reviews is that Zia is metered at all. Zoho Social also had no image or creative generation that our research could find; Occasely's Creative Studio generates images inside the same post.
Hinglish, and seventeen other ways to sound local
Occasely writes in 18+ language styles, including Hinglish, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Spanish, Arabic and Portuguese. Not English drafted then translated — written in the register from the start, which is the difference between a caption that lands in a small-town feed and one that reads like a press release.
Google Business Profile, in both directions
Occasely posts to Google Business Profile and syncs the reviews back. It drafts a reply in the owner's voice, and a human approves it before it publishes — nothing goes out on your listing unread. Zoho Social publishes to Google Business Profile too; review reply drafting was not something our research turned up.
Side by side
| Dimension | Occasely | Zoho Social |
|---|---|---|
| What it is built to do | Name an occasion; it plans a dated arc — teaser, build-up, offer, last day. | Schedule and manage posts you have planned yourself, across a lot of networks. |
| AI writing | Unlimited on paid plans. 18+ language styles including Hinglish and Tamil. | Zia writes captions and hashtags; 5–80 AI credits a month when we researched it. |
| AI images | Creative Studio generates images inside the post, metered by credits. | No image or creative generation found in our research. |
| Channels | Nine: Instagram, Facebook, Google Business, LinkedIn profiles, Telegram, X, Threads, Bluesky, Discord. | Wider — adds TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Mastodon, WhatsApp Business (Premium). |
| Analytics | Delivery only: published, queued, failed. No reach, engagement or followers. | Engagement reports, and custom reports on higher tiers. Plainly ahead of us. |
| How it is priced | Flat $19 or $39 a month. No per-brand fee and no per-seat fee — though also one workspace and one owner, where Zoho sells you more. | Per brand, not per user; extra members cost per head. Localized INR pricing. |
| Agent access | MCP server: Claude Code, Cursor and others read the workspace and queue drafts. | None documented in our research. |
When to pick Zoho Social instead
- You need a network we do not publish to. Occasely posts to Instagram, Facebook, Google Business Profile, LinkedIn personal profiles, Telegram, X, Threads, Bluesky and Discord — that is the whole list. No WhatsApp Business, no TikTok, no YouTube, no Pinterest, no Mastodon, and no LinkedIn Company Pages. Zoho Social covered all of those when we researched it, with WhatsApp Business and Telegram arriving on its Premium tier.
- You already run Zoho CRM, Desk or Books. Social lives in the same account, on the same bill, with the same support path — and in India, the same GST invoicing and partner network. When we researched Zoho Social its India pricing also sat well below its USD list, so the cheapest credible option is probably still theirs. Occasely bills worldwide in USD and integrates with none of the Zoho suite.
- You need to know what a post actually did. Reach, followers, engagement, a custom report for a client or a boss — Zoho Social reports on all of it. Occasely reports delivery only: published, queued, failed, per network. If the number you care about is engagement rather than whether the post went out, we are the wrong tool today.
If the occasion is the part you keep missing
Describe your business once. Occasely plans the arc for every occasion that matters to it, writes each post for the channel it is going to, and holds the queue until you approve.
Questions
- Does Occasely support WhatsApp Business like Zoho Social?
- No. We publish to nine channels: Instagram, Facebook, Google Business Profile, LinkedIn personal profiles, Telegram, X, Threads, Bluesky and Discord — Bluesky through an app password you create, Discord through a channel webhook you paste, which is also why a Discord post has no permalink to link back to. Telegram is live, WhatsApp Business is not, and we have no social inbox on any channel. The one thing we reply to is Google Business reviews, and that is a drafted reply you approve rather than a live conversation view. When we researched Zoho Social, WhatsApp Business and Telegram publishing and inbox came in on its Premium tier — if WhatsApp is central to how you sell, stay there.
- Is Occasely cheaper than Zoho Social?
- In India, probably not. Zoho's pricing page localizes, and when we researched it the rupee tiers ran well below the USD list; two secondary sources disagreed on the exact figures, so verify on Zoho's own page rather than trusting any number you read elsewhere, ours included. Occasely is $19 a month for Growth, which connects six channels at a time, and $39 for Pro, which connects twelve — the same worldwide, with annual billed at ten months' price. Dodo Payments is the merchant of record, so GST is on the invoice without us being an Indian entity. We are not competing on being the cheapest line on your card statement.
- Can I move my Zoho Social content and schedule across?
- There is no importer. You connect your channels to Occasely and generate fresh campaigns; anything already queued in Zoho Social stays there and goes out from there. The low-risk way to compare is to run both for one occasion — let Zoho keep your regular queue while Occasely plans the campaign around the festival or sale — and see which output you would actually publish. Occasion campaigns start on Growth at $19/mo; the free tier connects two channels and generates individual posts, not campaigns.
- Does Occasely replace Zoho Social's reports?
- No, and this is the clearest gap between us. Occasely's analytics cover delivery only: what published, what is queued, what failed, per network, with a readable reason on every failure and an automatic retry. There is no follower growth, no engagement, no reach, no impressions. If reporting is why you pay for a social tool, Zoho Social is the better product.
- Does Occasely connect to Zoho CRM or the rest of the suite?
- No. We have no integrations with Zoho CRM, Desk, Books or Mail, and none are planned that we can promise. Our only programmatic surface is an MCP server: coding agents like Claude Code, Cursor, Claude Desktop, VS Code, Gemini CLI and Windsurf can read your workspace and queue drafts. They cannot publish and they cannot spend an image credit — a human still approves everything that goes out.
